Maybe you want to learn Czech from scratch or you already know the basics and would like to jump into an advanced Czech course, but you are not sure how advanced you are. Or you need Czech lessons to prepare for a specific language exam – for example, Czech A2 or Czech B1. And what about Czech language lessons focused on a specific professional area such as business, law, real estate, medicine, sports, etc.? At SOLARIS,  an individual Czech language course will be tailored to your exact needs!

During the trial lesson the teacher should be told the students’ expectations from the course such as:

• systematic focus on grammar
• need to pass an exam
• problems with starting to speak the language
• aim to speak fluently
• aim to enrich vocabulary
• an employer requires their employee to reach a certain level, e.g. A2, B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
• interest in courses of using a language professionally for work etc.

After that an appropriate textbook is carefully chosen.

One-to-one courses are available as well as the opportunity to create groups of colleagues or friends. The size of the group is up to you but we strongly advise no more than 7 students.

Our tutors usually teach online, so you won’t miss a lesson wherever you are. If you are interested in in-person lessons, the tutor can come to your office in Prague or even to your favorite café in Prague. For an additional fee, we can also provide you with a classroom in Prague 3 for your individual course.

When choosing new teachers for our team we focus on specific education in linguistics, the art of teaching, communicative skills and rich professional experience. Our Czech language teachers are native speakers with an excellent education in linguistics. Our teachers can use English, Spanish or Russian as a communicative language in the lessons. Individual courses in other languages are also available upon request.

Once we receive all the necessary information from you, the next step is to sign the contract. Don’t worry, we don’t indulge in unnecessary paperwork and we don’t want to waste your time, so the contract is concise and clear, and everything is done electronically.

Our students usually prepay the lessons scheduled for the particular month.
Another option is to use our system of seasonal  discount packages.

Payment can be made in the following ways:

  • various employee benefit systems (Sodexo/Pluxee, Benefity,  Benefit Plus, Edenred, etc.)

TIP: Reach out to your business. If you have the opportunity to study with the direct financial support of your employer, we will of course solve all questions regarding invoicing and the reimbursement of courses for you.

As soon as the contract is signed we need one week to arrange the course and set up the date of the trial lesson. The teacher will need to know the approximate level of the student. Non-beginners should complete a test. The conditions of the trial lesson are as following: If a teacher is deemed acceptable to student(s) the trial lesson is then counted as the first lesson of the course and it is charged according to our price list. If the first teacher needs to be replaced with another teacher the trial lesson will not be charged.

A textbook is a very important element of teaching, and at the SOLARIS Language School, we choose textbooks really carefully for  individual courses. We prefer modern, if possible  interactive textbooks from renowned publishers. We regularly monitor the market and add new editions to our library. When choosing a suitable textbook, the lecturer always takes into account the requirements and needs of individual students. For higher knowledge levels, we also like to use additional study materials, such as journalistic and literary texts or graded readers.

In Czech language courses for foreigners, we work with the following textbooks:

– Basic Czech I+II+III
– Czech It Up 1+2+3+4
– Česká čítanka

There is an option to set up the frequency of progress tests (e.g. monthly, semi-annually, annually). Based on the result of the test the teacher informs the student(s) about the level achieved. At the end of the course a certificate will be awarded proving the language level in accordance to the Common European Framework of Reference for  Languages.
